Closing dates and holding runs back

Last updated November 3, 2026

Closed

Close dates when nobody can stay: holidays, deep cleaning, a run under repair.

  • Whole kennel: no run can be booked on those nights, online or by staff.
  • One run: only that run is out; the others stay bookable.

The closure covers the nights from the start date up to (not including) the end date, so a dog can leave on the morning a closure starts. If a stay is already booked on a closed night, KennelFetch tells you which one; move or cancel it first. Closures can overlap, and you can delete one to reopen.

Held back from online booking

A hold keeps some runs of a kind for your regulars or for phone bookings. On those nights the booking page offers fewer runs, but you and your staff can still book every run.

  • Holds can overlap, but together they can't hold more runs of a kind than you have turned on.
  • You can add a hold even when the nights are already full. It never makes the booking page show less than zero.

Common questions

Do closed nights show on the lodging grid? Yes, they are shaded and labeled "Closed". Each kind shows "Held from online" with the number held on nights with holds.
